BSA Welcomes Commission's Report on EU-US Privacy Shield Annual Review
BRUSSELS – 19 December 2018 – BSA | The Software Alliance welcomes the conclusions of the European Commission’s report on the EU-US Privacy Shield second annual review, which was released earlier today and confirms the continuation of the transatlantic data transfers mechanism as the U.S. continues to ensure an adequate level of protection for personal data transferred under the Privacy Shield.
“We congratulate the European Commission and the US government on their work in the lead up to the Privacy Shield’s second annual review ” said Thomas Boué, BSA Director General, Policy – EMEA.
“Privacy Shield is a living mechanism and we encourage both sides to continue their fruitful cooperation in the months and years to come so as to ensure the continuation of EU-US data flows, which underpins the economy on both sides of the Atlantic”, he concluded.
