BSA Applauds EU Call to Suspend Tariffs on Medical Equipment
BRUSSELS – April 17, 2020 – BSA | The Software Alliance commends EU Trade Commissioner Phil Hogan’s call to waive tariffs on medical equipment for the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic. During this global health emergency, it is critical that medical equipment be able to move freely between countries to reach those in need. Global coordination, modernized supply chains, and distribution are more important now than ever.
BSA’s member companies are working with enterprises and institutions across the medical and healthcare supply chain around the world to manufacture and distribute medical and personal protective equipment, help hospitals allocate resources, and study potential treatments.
